Work of the month September

There’s something about the change in season that always creates a shift in the colour palette. From working with greens and blues; I’ve switched to some lovely warm autumnal colours . It happened the minute I put my woolly hat on for the dog walks .😂

I love when the seasons change . My favourite being Spring and Autumn. As we come to the end of the the long, dark, cold and nature nudges the bulbs and leaves into action , my spirits lift .

There’s also something special about opening the door first thing on a September morning and feeling that little nip in the air , it’s the anticipation of warm woolly jumpers , scarves and hats ,crackling fires and snuggling down with a good book when the rain is lashing against the windows.

Bring on the seasons .

Oh and I’ve just finished reading Jodi Picoult’s latest book , “Wish You Were Here”, there’s a line in it that sums up everything I try to say about painting and a painting. I waffle on but this is it in a nutshell.

“A painting is a partnership . The Artist begins the dialogue and you finish it”

Sums it up exactly, Take a long look at the painting and …and finish the story 💕
