Going Large - Extra Workshop The Art of Making Art 2
Extra Workshop due to demand
Sunday 19th January 2025
Delgatie Castle, Turriff
This course is all about giving you the confidence and tools to paint large expressive pieces.
Working on a larger format can produce its own challenges, but fundamentally it’s down to confidence - it’s going to be fun, think channelling your inner Jackson Pollock. Yes you can throw paint around - we may have to nip outside to do it, but it can be done!
It’s down to larger quantities of paint, larger brushes, bigger mark making gestures and again not holding the canvas precious.
I will work through the whole process with you. If you’ve done the Art of Making Art Course you’ve already got lots of skills under your belt, you are good to go!
If you haven’t done the first course you can still do this one. I’ll be with you every step of the way.
We start the day with a warm up project , a simple format on a small scale and then you will move onto working on the large canvas. I’ll be demonstrating as we go.
All painting and paper materials will be provided. I will also provide a large 76 × 76 cm canvas.
If you have any images or photos you’d like to work from please bring them along.
This is a very relaxed art class with the emphasis on enjoying the materials, embracing the happy accidents and learning as we go.
The course is limited to 6 people to give you the best possible experience on the day and I’m so looking forward to seeing you again or meeting you for the first time.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided by the Castle Team.
Should winter weather cancel the workshop , you will be offered a full refund or a chance to rebook at a future date.
An email will be ent out one week before the course with further information
Please read details + terms below before booking.
