Passing by Rhum - this painting was inspired by the beautiful colours of the land as we sailed passed Rhum. Beautiful blues and greens, soft greys interspersed with rich mustards from the kelp on the shoreline.
Rippling waters and soft winds. I really enjoyed being on the water, seeing the island’s less known western shores. Our normal depth was 20-40 metres but suddenly the depth gauge was measuring 207 metres, we’d crossed into deep water and the talk was of the Kraken, that mythical sea creature that lives in the depths. Great fun with fellow crewmates.
With thoughts of our conversations I had to add some atmosphere to this painting with the low cloud hiding the island and what lies beneath. Enjoy this tot of Rhum
